I joined the quiz-writing team at Renaissance in 2018, after spending a few years as a freelance proofreader working across adult trade fiction and non-fiction titles. My passion for children’s books began prior to this, during a Christmas job I had at a bookshop, where I was able to help introduce children to new and exciting books based on their interests. There’s something magical about getting the right book into someone’s hands at the right time.
Quiz-writing has introduced me to books that I may not have read otherwise, and I love the fact that I never know what I’m going to be reading from one day to the next, or what I will learn from them. I particularly enjoy quizzing mysteries, horror, fantasy and adventure, as well as non-fiction history, but I’ll always be happiest if the book has dinosaurs in it.
