Beverly Sanford

I come from a family of teachers, but Renaissance was my first experience of ed tech. I joined as a freelance Accelerated Reader quiz writer from 2006-2015, hailing from a background in children’s TV brand marketing. After time away as a copywriter, book editor and bookseller, I rejoined Renaissance full-time in 2024, as I had missed working with AR, and the wonderful content team, who are passionate about supporting and representing young readers. As a child who lived in the library, working with AR is a dream job!

AR introduced me to hi-low books, of which I have now authored 8. I love writing hi-low and middle grade quizzes, and I’m passionate about wildlife stories, horror, and diverse books and authors, especially those that reflect cultures from all over the world. I also enjoy contemporary verse and graphic novels.
